NEWS & UPCOMING EVENTS
June 18, 2023: Congratulations, everyone, on a great end-of-year recital. Everyone played beautifully. All your friends and family were wonderful, kind, and supportive. For dear ones unable to attend, or who lived far away, we livestreamed the performance so they could listen and be a part of the event. Here is the video:
December 26, 2020: Congratulations to my student, Havanna Epps on her award from the Aldan Elementary School for performing piano for her class during "brain breaks." So very proud of this important accomplishment!
October 6, 2020: Happy Birthday to Nora's Steinway! Nora's piano is a Steinway Model M. It was built on October 6, 1920. It was sent to Cleveland, Ohio on October 7, 1920, and made it back to New York just before it was purchased by Nora's mom, who taught piano on this instrument for many years. After her passing, Nora brought the piano to Pennsylvania, and had it put in the music studio as soon as it was built. Here is a brief video celebrating 100 years of making beautiful music, featuring Nora playing the first piece she learned on her Steinway: Beethoven's Moonlight sonata.
October 27, 2018: Jacob Eiseman returned to record another video for his college application package. This time, Gershwin's Prelude no. 1 for piano was the task for the day. Digital audio and three HD cameras, including another appearance of DamperCam, which is quickly becoming a favorite at the Piano Studio! Everyone had a great time.
October 6, 2018: This week, Chris McGlade, another of Nora's students, came to the studio to record C.P.E. Bach's Solfeggietto as part of his college applications. Look for the debut of "Damper Cam." I focused our DSLR camera on the Steinway's dampers. We had a total of 3 HD camera angles to choose from.
August 30, 2018: Nora's student, Jacob Eiseman, came to the studio to record some of his pieces as part of his college applications. Here is a recently completed example:
June 16, 2018: It's that time of year, again! Nora's students have worked hard all year to prepare for the end of year recital. The hard work and dedication really pay off!

February 23, 2018: Jacob Eiseman has been studying with Nora since he was six years old. Last night all his hard work and training paid off big time. Jacob won first place in his high school's annual talent contest. Jacob is the first junior in the history of the school to win this competition. Congratulations, Jacob!
February 11, 2018: Nora hosted a performance get-together so that students can get comfortable with performing their pieces in front of others. Everyone is supportive and encouraging of each other. And there were donuts! Oh yes, there were donuts. And brownies. And homemade cupcakes. A great time was had by all.
January 14, 2017: Happy New Year! Nora hosts a get-together for her students. Here they can practice playing in front of other people, share pieces that are works in progress, and learn the finer points of concert performance etiquette. Plus, donuts!
OCTOBER 29, 2016: Nora practicing the Bach Two-part Invention in F. The keys to successful performance are practice, practice, practice. There are no shortcuts. Hard work and dedication pay off.
OCTOBER 26, 2016: Nora teaching Ellie Newsome to play Persian Market. Ellie has a lot of fun at her lessons, as you can tell.
JUNE 12, 2016: An impromptu encore by Hannah. This time her bunny accompanies her, and we were there to capture the moment.
JUNE 11, 2016: The annual recital of the students of Nora Frank Piano Studio was a rousing success. Congratulations to everyone: to the students who worked so hard, and to their parents who support and encourage them. It's been a great year. Have a wonderful summer, and we can't wait to see you again in the Fall.
JUNE 8, 2016: Out of the blue, I received this message from a student I taught many many years ago. How gratifying to read that piano lessons made a difference in her life. My students have certainly left an indelible impression on me. This note made my day!
MAY 22, 2016: Spring is here, which means the annual recital is just around the corner. We thought this sign was appropriate!
DECEMBER 30, 2015: When Alex was the age his children are now, he began piano lessons on Nora’s Steinway grand piano. Today he and his wife, Mary, are ready to pass on the tradition to the next generation of music lovers. Why not give the gift of piano lessons to your children and start your own tradition?
DECEMBER 23, 2015: Happy Holidays from Nora at Nora Frank's Piano Studio. If Santa brought you a piano this year (or any year) call me to set up piano lessons!
SEPTEMBER 25, 2015: The studio in action. Nora teaching Jacob Eiseman
JUNE 13, 2015: The students earn a round of applause for a job well done at the conclusion of the annual recital of Nora Frank's Piano Studio.
